Wetlands International awarded CBF-Seal for trustworthy charity

09-Nov-2011

Wetlands International is proud to have been awarded the seal of approval of the Central Bureau on Fundraising (CBF) for trustworthy fundraising and expenditures.

When a charity has a CBF-Seal of approval (CBF-Keur), issued by the Central Bureau on Fundraising (CBF), it signifies that the practices of the organisation have been closely reviewed and found to meet CBF standards for accountability and transparency. Criteria to qualify for the seal include good governance, a multi-year policy plan and transparent reporting per objectives.

Additional standards ensure that expenditures are made in relation to the results achieved by an organisation and there is proper oversight regarding overhead and fundraising costs.

Jane Madgwick, CEO Wetlands International: “This seal shows that we work in a transparent and efficient way to achieve our goals to conserve and restore wetlands in all regions of the world.”

The CBF-seal functions as a clear sign for donors regarding the quality and trustworthiness of a charity organisation.
