Wise Use of Water Resources - An Essential Element of Sustainable Development

The proceedings were prepared on the basis of reports from the participants of the Third Workshop of the Ukrainian Rivers Network. The publication also includes papers by scientists from the Uzhgorod National University and representatives of local authorities and institutions of Zakarpattya Oblast that supported the meeting. The papers present topics such as environmental policy, wise use of water resources, recommendations for methods to conserve water bodies, the conservation and restoration of biodiversity, monitoring of water systems, nature conservation and education.

Winter Records of Birds on the Azov-Black Sea Coast of Ukraine. 2001

The edition deals with outcomes of bird surveys accomplished in the Azov-Black Sea region of Ukraine during the period from December 1999 to February 2000. The articles include bird species list, data on numbers and distribution of birds on their winter quarters. Special attention is given to the patterns of condition of wetlands birds.

Current Status of Sivash

The book incorporates paper on contemporary status for the most important wetland in Europe. The materials embrace wide range of themes – from biological diversity, nature spots of infection diseases till setting up protected areas and social-economic characteristic of the region.

An Integrated Approach to the Management of the Sivash

The aim of this publication was to develop principles of Management Plan for Sivash, including strategic priorities, methods of implementation management decisions taking into account trends of ecological and social processes.
