Legal Background for Conservation and Wise Use of Wetlands in Ukraine

The review includes legal materials of different levels – from the Ukrainian Laws to Provisions and Instructions. Scientific backgrounds for conservation of wetlands were clarified especially in distribution of water-covered territories, threads to wetlands, mechanisms for conservation and wise use of wetland resources.


Description:

The review has been prepared in the framework of the Black Sea /Ukrainian Programme of Wetlands International – AEM. The review has been made in accordance with the recommendations of the Resolution VII.7 of the Convention on Wetlands. It includes legal materials of different levels – from the Ukrainian Laws to Provisions and Instructions. Scientific backgrounds for conservation of wetlands were clarified especially in distribution of water-covered territories, threads to wetlands, mechanisms for conservation and wise use of wetland resources. Furthermore it is intended for improving the legal base and mechanisms of implementation for conservation and sustainable use of wetlands in Ukraine.
