This design and engineering plan will be used as preparation for the implementation of a large scale Building with Nature demonstration project in Demak, Central Java to secure the eroding coastline for coastal safety. The plan provides the concepts, reasoning, design and practicalities for the timely implementation of the pilot. It sets priorities and sequence of implementation, and addresses limitations and risks, which will be accounted for and resolved in an adaptive approach. The report will also serve as input for fruitful stakeholder engagement at the community, district, provincial and national level and for the Environmental Impact Assessment.
