Coastal nature-based solutions (NbS) including the conservation, restoration and sustainable management of mangroves, salt marshes, and seagrasses, are essential to enhancing coastal resilience, as an alternative or complement to traditional grey infrastructure approaches. This policy brief outlines recommendations for opportunities for Parties to the UNFCCC to advance coastal NbS within ongoing UNFCCC processes and negotiations related to Finance, Ambition, and Adaptation at the upcoming UNFCCC SBSTA meeting in June 2024 (SB60).
